Nothing to see here….move along.
I am a member of the blu-ray.com site, and noticed a long post for Doctor Who Season 6 bluray set. Apparently 4 of the discs have manufacturing defects…these are noticeable after I read the thread as I knew where to look. I didn’t notice them on the initial watching of the series, but now they stand out like crazy…bottom sixty percent of the screen is fuzzy/grainy. Almost like the image was superimposed with the television tuned to a dead channel ( HA! Gibson ). You can really see it at 30:31 of the Rebel Flesh. I am waiting to see how another member on blu-ray.com makes out, as there is an un-official replacement program for the discs.
It’s official now…template is almost ready for the revamped Digital Burn 3.0, just a few small edits and I’m gonna roll it out. I have come to realize, posting my thoughts is a boring way to run a blog, who the hell cares what I am doing? my mom doesn’t have internet or a pc…
I am more than likely going to do away with the forums in their current state. The phpBB is way out of date so is the content, plus I have no desire to “rip” games anymore as I use my PS3 exclusively for gaming. Beside’s with SOPA and Canada’s version looming in some shape or form….don’t want my content blocked.
I realize I have way too many categories for a new template to function properly…so the menu is offline till I get it sorted out…..On a side note, I picked a bunch more Salvatore yesterday.
Well it’s Saturday morning, you know what that means…trip to Futureshop to pickup some Blu’s. I’m also in the market to pickup a stand for the big TV. FS has one as a display…and i just found it online. Sonax 60″ TV Stand, fits up to 68″ so I am good to go. Looks like lots of room for components, PS3 and my centre channel. Too bad it’s direct ship, no chance to measure out the shelves behind the glass….may have to wait this one out till I find another…. Looks crappy out so I may hit the Skyrim later today.
Hidy ho netzians. Small blurb of what I have been up to as of late. I have seen R.A. Salvatore books all the time whilst I perused my fav section at the book store, never once did I consider picking one up. Fast forward to a month ago, I snagged a copy of Gauntlgrym: Neverwinter Saga Book I. Boy was I pleantly suprised. The book was well written, and the character Drizzt Do’Urden (a dark elf) was right up my alley as a total ass-kicker. So you know me….I went and picked up Homeland…the first book in the Legend Of Drizzt, then the next 2 in what is called The Dark Elf Trilogy. I guess I gushed about the writings too much as my wife gave me the next 10 books in the Legend Of Drizzt Saga for Christmas. I read them all the time at home, at work and once at the dentist..guess you could say I’m hooked. as I draw closer to the end of the series (just started book 9 ) I am already looking at other authors in the Forgotten Realms world to grab on to. I will also be grabbing the rest of R.A. Salvatore’s work when I can…I love you Amazon.
Cheerio for now.
Yep, been away for quite awhile. Summer was last I posted..hey get over it…I had lots to do. Not sure I want to have a “personal” blog anymore, I mean what’s the point? I lead a life like everyone else that’s normal. I do like reading a ton of genre sites and scifi news…maybe I will take my site in that direction…
Summer’s here so sorry for my lack of updates.
Been watching a bunch of Doctor Who, the newest series…seasons 4 through 6…the revitalized series from Russell T Davies. So as good consumer, I also want to buy the bluray’s of said seasons. Its no damn wonder piracy is rampant with movies and televison…one hundred motherfuckin’ dollars a season. Are these people insane? Sure the shows come from across the pond…but the discs are printed and released here…so whats the problem. Sure I can go the Amazon route and save a few bucks, but I am still slightly old school in the fact I like going to the electronics store and picking from a selection of titles..then racing home to watch…not gonna happen with this one. I did order Torchwood: Children of Earth from Amazon…but its a 5 episode mini-series..for 20 bucks. So how does a 13 episode season of Who cost 5 times more? Come on entertainment moguls…you wanna fight piracy? put out product at a price people will accept….and actually buy.
Last few weeks it seems I have less and less time on the internets, although I have been doing the internet TV thing…and may ditch my satellite after baseball season is up.
Saw Thor this past weekend, and even though it was an origins story..thought it was pretty good, and it sets up the Avengers nicely. Been watching some SG-1 as well as Castle when I get the chance. Castle’s season ender the other night was stellar, and almost brought an end to Beckett’s mother’s killers story arc…cant wait for season 4 in the fall to see how it turns out. Nathan Fillion is a decent actor with great comedic timing, as well as being a geek…and hiding all kinds of fan-boy references in almost every episode.
Thats all for now…may all your Blues be Labbatts.
Millions of fans around the world are gonna crash Lucasarts servers at 9:00 AM EST today….as details will be announced on the Star Wars Bluray boxsets that are coming September 16th 2011. I will be one of these fans.
Its only in recent years I have come to appreciate the original trilogy more and more. With the release of the Clone Wars cartoons, it’s been a long time since I was that little fella that saw Star Wars in 1977. Man, has it been that long?
Update: a billion nerds crashed the server. and boom goes the dynamite
